They have always been more or less in charge of the machinery of science and were able to effectively squelch dissenting views about the existence of psychic ability and the place of consciousness in physics. But now we do have the internet and skeptics no longer have a death grip on the flow of information. Without that crucial weapon in their arsenal, things have been changing.
